Stock-outs on the shelf, overstock in the warehouse, and a buyer buried in order proposals. Continuous replenishment turns a weekly ritual into a running process.
In most retail and wholesale operations, replenishment happens in batches: someone reviews proposals once or twice a week and the shelves live with the lag.
A continuous replenishment workflow monitors sales and stock, forecasts demand, calculates reorder needs and creates the transfers and purchase orders itself, inside thresholds the buyer sets. The buyer approves anomalies, not routine.
Lag is the expensive part. Remove it, and availability rises while stock falls, without anyone working faster.
